Shelley Hathaway Lewis, MA, CRC, CLCP, ABVE/D

Shelley Lewis is a nationally certified rehabilitation counselor (CRC), a nationally certified life care planner (CLCP) and a board certified vocational expert (ABVE/D). She is also a registered vocational rehabilitation counselor with the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries and serves as a vocational expert for the Social Security Administration. Ms. Lewis holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of Washington and a Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Western Washington University. She has additionally completed 120 post graduate hours in life care planning following a curriculum developed through the University of Florida.

Ms. Lewis began as a rehabilitation counselor in 1996 and later joined Owings & Associates, Inc. in 1999. She became a partner of the firm in 2013 and in January 2014 became the owner of Owings Lewis, LLC.

Ms. Lewis is an active member of the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals (IARP) including the forensic, life care planning, and transition services sections. She is additionally a member of Professionals in Workers Compensation, the National Rehabilitation Association and is a Diplomate member of the American Board of Vocational Experts.

In her spare time, Ms. Lewis enjoys spending time with her family attending Seattle Sounders games as well as her son’s many sporting and school events.

Cheri Streby, MLIS

Cheri Streby is a master’s level librarian who has served as the research librarian for Owings & Associates, Inc., now Owings Lewis, LLC, since 2005. She is responsible for creating and maintaining the company-wide research library and provides resources and research services both in-house and external clients.

Ms. Streby holds a master’s degree in library and information sciences from the University of Washington. While completing her graduate studies, she worked as a library assistant at the Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle and volunteered at the Youth Service Center library, an institutional branch of the King County Library System located in King County’s Juvenile Detention Facility.

Ms. Streby strives to keep up to date on the most current online and print information in the vocational rehabilitation counseling field and related subjects such as health, education, employment and economic trends. Information literacy is a keen interest, both in the field of vocational rehabilitation counseling and in the area of children’s literacy.

In her free time, Ms. Streby enjoys reading, movies and keeping active in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
